I'm Nick, one of the Founders of Group Bookd. One of the things I believe is that it's super important for a company's culture to feel more human to their customers. As a customer, I want to feel like I'm treated as a individual, whether I'm customer 2 or customer 2 million, but as a business owner, I want my team members to feel the same way to our customers. You wouldn't expect us to treat you just as a number and I don't want our customers to treat our team that way either. So, as our team continues to grow, we'll introduce to you each person using a few fun get to you know you questions! It's only fair that I have to be the guinea pig, so let's jump right in!
Where did you grow up?
What's your role at Group Bookd?
I'm one of the founders at Group Bookd. Because I'm not the technical guy (I know enough code to break things), I'm focused on the vision and growth for the company.
What drew you to Group Bookd originally?
Since I was a kid, I've always wanted to start my own business. When the idea of starting Group Bookd started brewing in my head, I knew it was a great fit for me. I believe people will book some of their most memorable trips and events through Group Bookd, which is an exciting idea to be a part of!
Before working at Group Bookd, what was the most unusual or interesting job you've ever had?
While living in Birmingham for a summer, I worked as an "Imaging Specialist" (yes, that's one of the crazy, unnecessary titles). My job was to use a massive scanning machine and scan mortgage documents into the online database. I scanned around 50,000 documents a day...
Who has had the biggest influence on your life?
My parents have always been a huge influence for me, which I know is a cliche answer. My parents were young when they got married and had me, so they faced many of the obstacles that young couples face. They have beat all of the odds of young married couples and are still married to this day, which is a huge inspiration to me!
What's your favorite YouTube video?
What's your perfect vacation?
I grew up spending summers on the beach, so it became one of my favorite things to do. Whether it's Panama City, the Virgin Islands or the beaches of Lake Michigan, I'm happiest on the beach with friends and family!
What do you like to do when you're not at work?
I enjoy spending time with friends and family including my wife Catherine and our 3 pets. I'm also a huge Auburn fan, so when it's football season you can find us tailgating and cheering on the Auburn Tigers! War Eagle!
